Dalgona Brownies- the perfect dessert with iced coffee

Is the hype over already? Maybe. On the other hand, brownies and coffee are always a good idea! So it’s time for Dalgona brownies with iced coffee!

Last time I shared my recipe for a Dalgona layer cake with you. But summer is coming and I think it is time for airier creams! And with this recipe, you can make iced coffee and dessert in one go. So it is worth the effort to prepare the Dalgona coffee.

Since the lockdown, I can’t have anyone over for coffee and my boyfriend and I don’t want to finish a whole cake by ourselves, I gave some to my neighbors. And they loved the brownies! You’ve got to try these Dalgona brownies yourself! It’s really easy!

Dalgona Brownies

Equipment

  • 23cm / 9inch spring form

Ingredients

for the brownie

  • 150 g butter unsalted
  • 250 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 160 g flour
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

for the dalgona cream

  • 3 tbsp instant coffee
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 250 ml whipping cream

Instructions

for the brownie

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line the springform with baking paper and grease the sides.
  • Melt the butter and let it cool down for about 5 minutes.
  • Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt and gradually stir into the butter mixture.
  • Put the dough into the prepared form and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove the brownie from the pan and let it cool down.

for the dalgona cream

  • Brew the instant coffee with the sugar and 3 tbsp of boiling water and whisk until stiff in a food processor for 15-20 minutes.
  • In a sepearte bowl, whip the cream until stiff. Stir one spoon at a time of the dalgona coffee into the cream until you like its taste! 🙂
  • Spread the topping onto the brownie just before serving.
  • For decoration you can sift some cocoa powder on top.
  • Enjoy!
